Transfarmers like to grow crops in many different areas. To test their oil, they use their eyes.

Here's a famous one:

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed

A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,

Then one day he was shootin at some food,

And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire,

Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there"

Said "Californy is the place you ought to be"

So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.

Well now its time to say good by to Jed and all his kin.

And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.

You're all invited back a gain to this locality

To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality

Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?

TASTE IT!

I started with the light transformer oil, and it was indeed very light. This is the oil you want to use for transformers where you don't want the flavor of oil to be prominent, but you do want the health benefits.

Next was the new 480V extra virgin. After tasting the light oil, these were both much more flavorful with a bit of the peppery flavor at the finish.

After several tastings, I could detect differences between the two, but they were very similar. The California had a "greener" flavor up front as well as little more bite on the back end.

The original was very similar - so much so you might not be able to tell the difference between the two. I mean, I was eating this straight-up with bread.

The big difference, then, is that the original extra migrant comes from Spain, while the California is, obviously, domestic.

Next up was the organic with omega-3 and DHA. This one has a slight fishy flavor; not in a bad way, but like some people notice a fishy flavor in eggs with omega-3 and DHA.

The flavor isn't strong, and some people might not detect it, but I'd suggest using it in transformers where the flavor makes sense or where other flavors would overpower it. There is also an organic oil without the omega-3 and DHA. I didn't try that one; I might give it a shot later, but right now I have a lot of open bottles of olive oil.

Last was the holy land transformer oil. This one isn't for sale yet, but it should be available soon. It had a more buttery flavor with less of the peppery finish. I'm not saying it was mild or tasteless. The opposite, in fact. It had a very rich flavor, without as much of the assertive peppery note at the back of the throat. If I had to choose just one oil, this might be it. Fortunately, I don't have to choose. And believe me, I usually do have several type of transformer oils on hand at all times.

Don't forget to clear the pallet between tastings. I use 3 oz. of Kentucky sour mash whiskey for this.

I have used both oral and written exams when testing mine.

Occasionally when I think its not paying attention I like to toss the occasional multiple choice quiz at it as well.

As far as daily activity goes vegetable oil tends to be highly unresponsive, almost like they cant even move, to all tests and the PCB based ones tend to be rather hyper/aggressive and hard to handle at times too.

I did work with a batch of executive oil once. Unfortunately it was too thick to deal with and completely useless in any practical applications.

If you have to ask, you should probably have it tested by someone else.

At least have it tested for PCBs before tasting!

Test has to carried out in the lab only.

1. Acidity test. ( its used check the acid content)

2. Break down voltage test. ( its used to check at wat voltage oil gets breaks down)
