Pictures would be nice. ( use the green camera icon to attach a picture (s))

A better description of how it is misaligned and the harm that could happen would be better.

1. The connecting flanges don't mate?

2. If the flanges mate, some other interference occurs.

3. too short?

4. too long?

5. angle is wrong?

It is always good to give good information if you want good responses.

Thnx for the advise.

1. Flanges didn't mate properly.

2. Flange seems to be not welded properly.

I will attach photo asap.

It is advisable to make it tension free. What does it mean by "Flange seems to be not welded properly" Here the word seems is intriguing. Is the weld neck flange to the pipe is welded at an angle (not in perfect alignment)?

Only solution is to cut the pipe by plazma cutter or grinder, first align the flange (put gasket and studs), now align the pipe (ensure proper surface preparation and gap), weld it using TIG welding and do radiography/other NDT.

With clear photo and clear firm problem solution can be found but with " seems", you only have to see.

Intially you said mis-alignment now you are adding welding problem also. If both problems are there then cutting of joint by grinding and re-weld after proper alignment is the solution.

If you want to do it right, disassemble the pipe, repair (if allowed) or remake the defective piece and re-assemble.

There is no other way to do it properly.

Field repair may be an option if the customer will allow it.

1st.

Stop payment of the Contractor and get the job done at his expense for materials and labor.

2nd.

If in-house job and you are responsible fire yourself (because you should have known better go get experienced contractors).
