SQL Writer Problem

Try turning the computer off and unplugging it from mains for at least 15 min, then restart. If that doesn't work, we need more info:

1. Operating System name and version?
2. Laptop or desktop?
3. Make & Model?
4. What program were you installing (also need to know the version!)?

Try the first thing I said. If that doesn't work, come back here with the info requested if you really want help.

While mainly being used for safer browsing, I find running installations of freeware "Sandboxed" using Sandboxie is a good way to find out issues that may or may not be some attempt to dink with your computer. It's a way to see what all the software is "trying" to do without repercussions.

OP, the prognosis is not good and will be difficult to fix if you don't have a recovery file stashed somewhere.

You want to consider getting a separate PC for adventurism once your pC is revived.

You really need a local friend to help and possibly pay them or trade skills.
