Is this a serious question? Electricity travels in a loop, from the source through the load and back to the source. Kirchoff's current law is the rule that explains this in the most basic terms possible. The sum of all currents is zero.

If the electricity takes an alternate path you have what is commonly referred to a fault. This fault could be an unintended path, a short circuit, or a ground fault.

Do you have a motor connected to the UPS?

It is because the circuit is correctly connected.
