What is the Cause Of High Vibration on HR Fan?

03/19/2012 8:46 AM

I am working in a Iron ore pellet plant. Hr fan is one of the major part of pellet plant. details below.

The length of Tg is about 32mts.it consists of 4-zone.

Zone-1 - 9mts length-temp about 200'c

Zone-2 - 6mts length-temp about 350'c

Zone-3 - 6mts length-temp about 650'c

Zone-4 - 15mts length-temp about 1100'c

And in all the zone Pressure is maintain negative.Hr fan is used to recycle the excess temp of zone-4 to zone-1 and to maintain negative press in Tg.

Hr fan -630 kw,1460rpm,normal temp at drvie end is 58 and at non drive end is 50.but the time of vibration the temp reach above 90'c at both end.

It's probably the same cause as the vibration on this one:

Dirt on the blades.

Damaged bearings.

Dead bat in the fan blades.

What's an HR fan? Tg? Sounds like a bad bearing, or blades out of balance.( )? Shaft could be bent....

I do have blowers of the same size and, when vibration comes, I check as follows:

1. Cleaning of the impeller. Bumps, impacts, foreign materials attached, etc...

2. Bearing blocks at drive and non drive end (axial gap in floating bearing, non drive end) Heat diffusors between blower shell and bearing blocks?.

3. Coupling status. (alignment, gaps, parts, rubber blocks if apply...etc.) Specially important the axial gap if the motor has a magnetic (floating) center.

4. Uncouple the fan from the motor, and check vibration in the motor alone.

( some shim missed, tightenign of the bolts...etc.)

5. Expansion joints in the ducts. A bad installation can lead to forces and deformation in the blower shell, and this deformation to unexpected wear or contact points.

5. If nothing is found, You can consider a new dynamic balancing of the impeller.

And, prior to all this...

Preferably in the MCCR as well.

The balance is out due temperature and longtime operation. Get all dynamic balanced.

I am not familiar with Iron ore pellet plant and its motor/fan installations.

Any abnormal vibrations in motor are due to bearing problems, shaft alignment problems , foundation fixing problems . If it is a fan of-course blades also plays a role.

Vibrations can cause energy loss. Heat and noise are the results of vibrations.

there were lots of reason for the heavy vibration

1) May be Unbalance mass in rotating equipments

2) struture weak

3) bearing problem

exact cause of vibration you can find out by FFT analysis
