Help in Diesel Engines

07/19/2012 1:56 PM

i have 2 questions in diesel engines :1) i want to specify the combustion process stages ( delay period , uncontrolled combustion , controlled combustion , after burning stage ) on the crank shaft angles coz i read different angles in many sources so i want exact angles before and after the tdc ?

2) is there any difference between knocking and detonation and what is the most important factor that causes it ?

Each engine will have different timing sequences. You'll have to look at the individual engine specifications.

Look up pre-ignition. Knocking and detonation are the same thing.

A 2-stroke has twice as many power strokes per revolution than a 4-stroke, through it is inherently less efficient per power stroke. It is not possible to generalise.
