Fehmohd,

The design of process columns and supporting skirts is a complex subject and should only be undertaken by someone with a graduate level engineering degree in structures.

The final design should be certified and stamped by a professional engineer and checked by others.

The support skirt is a component that operates at elevated temperatures and should be evaluated for a variety of loading conditions including temperature, deadload, wind and seismic conditions. Creep design is crucial in high temperature installations. Skirt strength and stability are compromised by all necessary piping and access openings.

Correct anchor and ring design is crucial.....

So, based on all of this,...... do you have any experience at all on this subject ?

Do you have a project at hand with specific issues ?

Or, perhaps, you just decided to "throw a question out there" because you were bored..?

Articles and books have been written on this subject. A forum can't give you the details but some of the members may offer good, recent reference material. Any I have is probably out of print.
