To what standard is this pressure vessel to be built?

Why metal and not something else?

Which metal?

Design temperature and pressure?

What wetting fluids?

pressure vessel is built up with ASME Sec. VIII, Div. I

Metal is SA 516 Gr. 60 (Applicable to my case)

Design temp 50 Deg. Cel. & pressure 6 Kg/sq. centimeter (g)

wetting fluid is not given in data sheet

pls. help if possible

The wetting fluid is the stuff that the pressure vessel is being designed to contain; examples are water, compressed air, hydrogen, sulphuric acid, propane. Please state the fluid(s) in this case.

Looking at this problem another way, the minimum ambient temperature for design purposes at this latitude could be selected as -20degC.

MDMT is not really calculated. Instead, it is looked up in tables of weather data (if climate is the source of low temperature) or chemical properties (e.g., pressure-temperature relationships that might give cold conditions). Then a suitable material for vessels, pipes, or structural components is chosen, again from tabulated data.
