Watch out for this statement under Grounding, fifth bullet down:

"...Generally Black wire is used for this as a nomenclature..."

Not here in North America where the Black wire is Hot!!!....

"Not here in North America where the Black wire is Hot!!!...."

That is because they love to be different. They have an identity of their own.

I hope you don't consider this, as politically incorrect statement. My apologies, if you do.

Grounding is for the bad pilots.

Earthing is only for Druids.

Bonding is between a Man and his dog.

Green and yellow is used extensive for bonding earthing earthing in many countries.
Dunno where they got black from! (probably had a spare reel of it)

....dammit, I knew there was a fundamental problem with my DIY wiring. I thought Mrs K just liked to dance when she did the washing up.

I've been using neutral switching on the light fixtures - I suppose you will tell me that is wrong as well, though it seems like a good way of saving on the cost of that live stuff. It works fine, though I don't recomend trying to extract a busted light bulb with such a system.

If you think I'm bad, go scope the thread on using armoured cable as neutral . Not me, I'm just jealous of such creative thinking. 10cc did an entire song on the topic - 'it's just a funny phase I'm going thru...'.

Thank goodness KrisDel™ doesn't have an electrical installations contacting division!

Or does it?

Yep. It's hived off to a subsid in Kyoto, though UK pricing is structured so that we don't pay taxes here. All materials are shipped under a Panamanian flag. It's all above board - the Select Committee came over on another fact-finding tour just last week. I thought Raffles was a crook, but apparently it's a nearby hotel. Best not tell the cat - he's still rooting around under trees. That'll teach him for having floppy ears.

Yeah, but we only had to hive it off 'cos some bushy tailed rodent git would insist on snacking on the insulation.
No names no snack drill.

It's excellent dietry fibre, and the colour helps to stop people stepping on it. The old VRI tasted best.

So,the conclusion is earthing & grounding are different as their purpose is different eventhough both are meant for connecting the devices to earth.Pls clarify for this unending confusion in human mind...!

Its Nice Good Article. But It is not clear,

Earthing means connecting the dead part (it means the part which does not carries current under normal condition) to the earth for example electrical equipment's frames, enclosures, supports etc.

Grounding means connecting the live part (it means the part which carries current under normal condition) to the earth for example neutral of power transformer.

As provided above in heading 2 & 3

Think about our system, we are using only earthing, means that earthing also used for transformer in India. So it should be as you pointed in first Paragraph(Introduction) Earthing and Grounding are same, whereas you are differentiated earthing and Grounding as different.

If there and specific reason could you share further in this regard

In Canada, for 120/240 V single phase circuits we typically have a bare ground conductor (or green), a white neutral wire that carries return current and is grounded at the distribution panel, a black and / or red wire that are hot with respect to neutral.

The bare ground conductor is used to bond the metal cases and parts and also the copper plumbing etc. to keep them at ground potential.

The term earthing is not usually used.
