Re-cycle Condenser Water for 750 ton chillers

10/31/2012 12:32 PM

This is in regards to adding a Dolphin system that would automatically cycle the condenser water for new (chiller) open towers .

Is this a good system to have added to a new chillers and towers, is this a good idea?

A portion (commonly about half) of the water evaporates in the cooling tower. The remainder can be bled off to prevent concentration of contaminants in the water. Suitable water treatment such as the "Dolphin" system can reduce this bled-off water, but it can't reduce the amount of water evaporated.
Each case should be analyzed economically. Sometimes it will beneficial, sometimes not.
