British Police launch a new form of surveillance.

I have spent some time in Liverpool, and I'm here to tell all that in this part of the world, this isn't a flying camera system, it's a target! there will be prizes awarded in the local pubs. (Before any scousers jump on me, I don't mean this maliciously!)

I know a couple of scousers here in S.A. I personally don't think they will take your statement as malicious, more as a kind of challenge! Could you imagine the scene in a local pub as the barman shouts:"Oi, lads, 'eres 20 quid for the lad who nails the next "spy in the sky!!!!"

I can even imagine a score board:

Local Lads 2, Police 0.

That's exactly what I mean! It's just that I had a sudden attack of political correctness, but I'm OK know, my colleagues left me in a dark room for 8 hours and shouted abuse at me.

Hi PlbMak. While on the rifle range this morning the talk was all about these new fangled police spies in the sky, they all thought it would be a great target to test their markmanship on. I would lay a bet that it will not be long before someone, sooner rather than later downs one. But that aside think about this, since we have installed CCTV camera's 4,500 to date, crime has risen. Even the police admit to this, and at least three police cheifs have said that they don't like all this surveillance today. Spencer.

I can't wait for these critters to make their debut in Texas. I know for sure it'll give the local doves a reprieve. But I wonder: what will be the bag limits? And will there be a penalty for poaching? As I'm sure these things are all-weather, will it be open season all year long? Will they get their own spot in Field & Stream? The sky's the limit.

It would be like having Superman in the force.

In our suburb we are using 2 way radios to report suspicious persons. A flying camera will be useful.

Controlling a model craft when it is out of sight is rather difficult. I have destroyed a few when young.

Too late their already here.

Just arm them, increase duration or some sort of landing zone to recharge. Connect it to the Internet and charge a fee to play and make a tidy profit, while funding every day police work.

In the USA, our military is using them. They actually show them being used on TV commercials.

Any idea of the operating frequencies? These things would be fun to jam: whilst supplying fake video to the operator (some prime Linda Lovelace footage, for example), one could assume control of the craft over its R/C channels and fly it right through the police chief's living-room window. Imagine the possibilities...

How long before they are asassinating the "bad" citizens to make their eutopia prison of a country "better for all of us". I don't think I like where this is going. You can almost watch your freedoms being stripped away slowly. We will feel like prisoners in our homeland. I don't think the citizens of the free nations would let this type of snooping and spying happen. Somebody will hack into one of those and take over them. It would benefit to see criminals being taped in action but I think that police would be able to edit the footage and make it look like an innocent person is doing wrong.

Over here, I don't think that one lot of video footage would be enough to convict with some serious corroborating evidence.

Are they good with mushroom gravy? Are they hard to clean? Hope they're bigger then squabs takes 3 or 4 to make a meal.
