DN80 PN40 Weld Neck Flange, DIN 2635 Type C Face

How far apart are the strainer and the flowmeter? What is the actual pressure in the system? On rough guess, PN40 ≈ Class 600. What temperature is the fluid? What else did we forget?

Surely this is going into a piping system with a piping specification. What does the pipe spec say?

We are Fabricators and Engineers Company. Our customer don't tell about the specifications. They just said they are using Coriolis Flowmeter with Process Connection DN80 PN40 Weld Neck Flange, DIN 2635 Type C Flange. No other supporting information.

And they need Strainer URGENT. We have Strainer with USA Standard which is 3" ANSI 150 RF and 3" ANSI 300 RF. While Coriolis using Europe standard.

If forced to do this, whether there will be problems with the pressure?

How is the installation of the flange to flange ?

Does it require modification ?

If this site, http://www.zetamec.com/ansi-300-rf-wn-std_eng.htm, is to believed, DIN 2635 is not equivalent to ANSI, although PN40 is pretty close to 300# in the 3" size.

So, what is the conclusion guys ?

Is the Coriolis Flowmeter DN80 PN40 can be paired with Strainer 3" ANSI 150 RF ?

It seems I can not solve this problem, because of the customer does not give me more detail about the specifications.

≈Most flowmeters require about 5 diameters of straight pipe upstream and 10 downstream. If so, a close-coupled strainer would be crazy.

DN80 pipe is (at least nearly) equivalent to ASME 3 inch pipe, with suitable adjustments for wall thickness. PN40 ≈ 40 bar ≈ 600 psi. This is why I mentioned Class 600. However, this also depends on temperature, which is why I asked about the actual pressure and temperature.

If the client can't furnish such information, then you have a really dumb client. In future, beware of tendering to such clients.

This inquiry is for tender. I think my client was afraid if our company participated in the tender. That's way he did not want to give a detailed specification of the data.
