Material Use

12/05/2012 12:57 AM

Whether EN24 or Maraging steel can be used for food processing applications? I ma planning to use for 7000 bar applications in the sense for high pressure applications in food processing. Also can anybody enlighten me the preferred material for high pressure food processing of liquid foods?

Thanks everyone in advance

What is the reason that regular food-grade stainless steels cannot be used for this application instead?

There are proven solutions for this sort of application. Why is the proverbial wheel up for re-invention?

For high pressure food processing of liquid foods: In high Pressure milk Homogenizer reciprocating plunger high-pressure valve, the key component is Stellite 6 or tungsten-cobalt material and the flow medium parts are usually made from SS 304.

I hope this helps.
