Droop Control In Steam Terbo-Generators

12/11/2012 7:18 AM

What is Droop Control?

How that can work on all mode ie speed, load & pressure control mode?

Droop % is less, governing is more sensitive, then why use it?

Go to this location: http://www.woodward.com/searchpublications.aspx , and search on 'droop' for some good information from the Woodward company, a reputable governor manufacturer.

Dear Mr.shshkntyrm,

DROOP CHARACTER 9of Speed) is relating to the Governor of a Prime Mover, be it turbine, Diesel Engine etc and expressed in percentage and ameasure of Drop in Speed from NO-LOAD to FULL-LOAD

Thus (SPEED at No-Load) - (Speed at Full-Load) * 100/ (SPEED at No-Load)

This eseentially to be accounted while Synchronising for Load-Sharing.

In the same way the DROOP CHARACTER for Alternators - in Electrical side is calculated.
