The OLTC (online tap changer) is installed on the high voltage side.

For second part of your question, I would like you to think and find the answer.

Although it is a bit specialized, this could be a reasonable monthly challenge question.

Dear Mr.msamad,

I am of the opinion - after having told the reason, for 1st half question, we should reply the "WHY" part of the question.

I think with your permission, I can reply as

"ON THE HIGH VOLTAGE SIDE - THE CURRENT WILL BE LESS TO THE EXTENT OF RATIO OF N2/N1, and THE DAMAGE ON ACCOUNT OF ARCING WILL BE MINIMUM"

THANKS,

Is it an interview question or one came in your exam? Better study the fundamentals . If you read any basic book on transformers you could clear your doubts . Better start with your fundamentals before putting questions in this forum.
