Retrofitting Screw Compressor With Variable Speed Drive

Hire someone familar with ammonia compressors and systems, this is not a job for the inexperianced. I believed you recieved the same answer on your other post on this project.

Consider engaging the services of a consultant, conversant in the technologies at hand.

Consider the implications of lost production, if your present crew cannot design, specify, purchase and install such a system properly.

Consider also, the liability incurred by the specifier and installer of such a system, if it fails.

Check if the oil system will work properly at less rpm. Some types will, and some won't.

If the control response is too fast, there may be risk of liquid flooding in the compressor suction.
