General Question to Moderator/CR4 Admin

Having experience with q#1, I'll answer that. (I've lost as many as 8 GA's at one time. Someone was mad at me and started cancelling my GA's with OT's.

It takes two GA votes from any two members before you are credited with a GA.

Others can then vote you off topic and that cancels out one GA vote, so your credit for GA's is reduced by one GA.

Anyone can vote you OT. It does not have to be the person who voted you the GA, but anyone can do it and that takes away one GA. If you look at the voting history you will see something like two GA votes and one OT vote that will explain it.

I've seen comments with 6 GA votes and 4 OT votes. That is still worth one GA on your record.

My advice is do not fret over GA count. It is a totally subjective and more like a pat on the back than affirmation of higher intelligence.

I just got about 8 or 9 GAs knocked out within a 24 hour period.

Fortunately, I derive more pleasure from making people mad, than I do from a rising GA count.

I am not particular about the Good ANSWERS SCORE. What I am interested is "WHETHER MY ANSWER/SUGGESTION/HINT has given a solution for the Member.?

If the Answer is YES, then I am HAPPY and SATISFIED. After all we should contribute MORE to the SOCIETY than what we take from the SOCIETY. THAT WILL GIVE METAL SATISFACTION. Knowledge has to propagate endlessly and has no Boundary.

My experience has been that many times correct answers are never acknowledged by the recipient.

Many may not even be aware of how the CR4 voting system works.

The satisfaction of helping a member in need far outweighs the GA itself.

"If you look at the voting history..." The problem with that is that you can only see the voting history on your own posts after voting - and you can only vote yourself OT (by 5!).

Another foible of the voting system is that once you've voted for someone, either a GA or an OT, you can't erase it. You can convert a GA into an OT or vice versa, but once you've voted, you can't just take it away.

I guess I've never given it much thought one way or another.

Someone got mad at you ??...no...can't possibly be... :-)

Regarding the second question, if the e-mail address is still present, it means the admins have not yet seen the post and edited it.

Remember that unlike on many fora, CR4 posts are not moderated (i.e. checked by admin) before they appear on forum. This is very good from the view that discussions can proceed effectively in real time; spontaneity is retained and conversations are much nore natual than when posts are fully moderated. The down side is that 'forbibben' material can appear for a while until reported to admin's attention, or otherwise seen by them.

At this juncture, 2 days back, I saw a posting - it was personal attack and counter attack, i suggested that post to be totally removed - Not known to me what happened to it.

The only good reason for "GA's" is it gives you a gauge as to whether you are contributing anything of value or just wasting time.
