Getting Rid of all Those Out-of-date & Incorrectly Entered E-mail Addresses

04/21/2013 12:30 PM

When signing in on yahoo e-mail, a right click brings up a list of old, unwanted and incorrectly entered e-mail addresses from the past. Some are my wife's, some are mine. Any error we made initially seems to be stuck there forever. Currently there are 11 entries. All I want is the current 2. How do I get rid of them?

I've got a yahoo account I use sometimes.

It appears to me that if you click on the Contacts tab, then click the 'Select All' box, all of your contacts will be highlighted and a window will open giving you the option to delete your contacts. Un-check the boxes of the ones you want to save, and all the contacts left checked can then be deleted by clicking the 'Delete Contacts' box.

Try this and see if it works for you.

I replied to your suggestion on Saturday, but it has vanished! Don't know what happened. I had better explain better my problem. On signing in to Yahoo e-mail by left clicking on the e-mail addresses listed, it brings up my current e-mail address plus a number of spurious ones (a total of 11), which are either not used anymore or were incorrectly entered in the first place (thank you wife!). After choosing the correct one, it inserts the password automatically and we are logged in. My question is: how do I eliminate all those old ones?

Clear your cookies and delete history. Also if you want set the browsing to "private" so that it clears the history everytime you close your browser. Only think is that with this it won't remember the two you want, but it is safer though.

Do keep in mind that e-mail is low-priority communication. If it were urgent, the other end would use the telephone instead.

Also, you can usually hit the down arrow, and then the delete button on the ones you want to delete.
