As many as you want.

Good grief.

However many generators there are present and provisions for within the panel. That number cannot be seen from here.

What does it say on the drawings?

Ask someone with experience to show you where the "Generator Selector Switch" is located on the panel. If there is none then you can only synchronize one generator at that panel.

As many as punts as a one-legged man can do at an ass-kicking contest...maybe more.

If you make a switch, connecting the "incoming terminals" of the synchronising panel to the generator output (or its potential transformer) of each generator (so you can select whichever you wish), you can synchronise as many generators as you have.

You must also connect the "voltage lower and raise", "Frequency lower and raise" and "breaker close" outputs of the synchroniser panel to the "incoming" generator. Another way is to connect the synchroniser to a plug which engages with a matching socket on each generator panel or generator breaker.

Warning - this assumes there is one busbar, to which all the generators connect directly. Also, you must have the same magnitude, phase and polarity for every voltage. The synchroniser you have may not be compatible with any generator, some synchronisers have a direct voltage output, not isolated relay outputs.

To work accurately, a synchroniser must take its "incoming and "running" voltages from each side of the "breaker which is to be closed" to connect the generator "on-line".

When you synchronize DG sets,

All the DGs are feeding to a common bus, hence the continuous current as well as the fault current increases

If it is a 415 V DG set, there is a upper limit for the rating of ACB (air circuit breaker) that is commercially available. The same holds good for Fault current also. Check with reputed ACB manufacturer like ABB, siemens, Schneider for the largest ratings available.

Moreover, with increased fault current, the cost of the switchgear also increases exponentially. Hence check with clients for cost approval.

The standard practice is to create banks of 3 or 4 DG sets for synchronizing.
