Proportional Derivative Controller

Dear All

we are using pi controller on most of acs800 vfd. I want to ask that can we use pd control on these drives too

It would be a very strangely-behaving process that used P+D only. So, although it is possible, it is very unlikely to be needed andd therefore very uncommon.

The general form of the controller is PID, and was for the better part of the century. As antique as a piston engine. and equally, it has its place, usefully.

I get annoyed - when a manufacturer, normally - start monkeying with it. Believing his uneducated mind, that he can save 50 cents leaving a factor out.

Penny wise, pound foolish.

Other than that, I have no firm opinion on the matter.
