How To Find Capacitor Ratting of Water Pump Motor?

I take it the motor has a rating plate.

Try phoning the motor manufacturer. They will give their prompt attention to you're enquiry.

It won't involve people that don't have the full information making assumptions and wild guesses.

There is no any name plate available or missing that's the reason i put request to hare.

And how is the forum supposed to know, when the motor cannot be seen from here?

The last time I had ratting, the little blighters had chewed up the insides of the capacitor. The signs were obvious, and I had no trouble seeing the problem.

I guess a capacitor +/- 16 uF 450V will fit, compared with an other 1HP 2Pole 220V 50Hz motor.

Please measure the voltage at the capacitor when the motor is on load, it should be +/- 400Vac. Also compare the current the motor takes full loaded it should be +/- 4.5 Ampères. If the motor is not warming excessief, it will fit.

Can you be able to provide the type and dimension of the capacitor. If possibile can you show the picture of it. How do know that the capacitor is faulty? Is there a physical sign of damage on the capacitor, do you understand it's function. What is the motor make. If there is no rating, we can only assist you basing on you giving us the above information correctly. Thanks.

whats a few micro farads here or there? between friends? you could always just Google 1HP motor, 220V.....and get a real close comparison!
