Be Warned - The Days of the Moped-Rider Doing Pizza Delivery are Numbered!

As gone, as if your pizza doesn't arrive in a half hour or less, its free!

Dominos... I wander if it's dry and thin everywhere ; but my concern is how the customer will be safe from the blades, exactly at what moment the pizza will be picked up; and how the air route is going to be controlled beyond the sight of the operator, Google maps+GPS, real-time pilot or something ?.

Drones are going to be huge someday. Picture an industry somewhat-akin to ground-based shipping (vehicle sales, manufacture and maintenance, and all support operations), where packages and mail are delivered by drones instead of humans. Heck, personal drones will be able to go pick up a prescription from the drug store.

The main problem is legislating and licensing these vehicles. There are inherent dangers, especially with inept personnel or poorly-made models. Point is, Domino's is never going to be able to pay a 17-year-old minimum wage to fly these. Moped On!

Interesting to note that the "delivery" was not documented. Cut-away, to man holding pizza boxes.

So, just as their pizza is without merit, so is the video.

What are the safety and security risks in it,will governments approve as in air you can't control traffic as in roads. can hackers break-in and get it delivered to their homes as Iranians grounded a US drone?.

And how long before you see the first "struck by flying pizza" fatality?

What's next - the postal delivery services?

They can even send a bomb to any destination unnoticed(less noisy)

If the drone had hovered in place while dropping the pizza to the buyer on a tether, then it would have been like the sky crane maneuver. IMO that's safer but much more difficult to execute. Kind of like the claw arcade game in reverse, and you know how well that game works to delivery worthless stuff to paying customers.

But deliver by bike..... Possible.
