How do you derive the voltage drop equation for 'three' and 'single' phase system

One could always start with Ohm's Law and Kirchoff's Law.

KW (three phase) = 1.732xVxIxPF/1000

KW (single phase) = VxIxPF/1000

That is not a voltage drop, it's a voltage rise.
