Something and Transformer

07/09/2013 10:07 PM

I have something (which forum has a filter not to be asked) and a transformer. Unfortunately, I joined the project for drying fruits later on and once I checked the bill of quantities I realized that someone did not order the inverter circuit. So our something works at 2.45 GHz and with the transformer the classical inverters utilize a capacitor around 1 m F a diode of HV 12-15 KV on reverse breakdown and a HV resistor to limit the current on diode.

My question :what would you recommend for CW 1.5 KW ...tron and transformer's inverter circuit? I would greatly appreciate former experience based comment on the subject.

No worries, Iranians have already collected all the big capacitors from Istanbul, I barely found one sample capacitor 1900 VAC 1 m F.

I want to say something about something but I don't know anything about nothing....

Something is magnet electron mag net ron but cr4 has a filter for it.

Now we really have something that anything can be done but nothing will still be the most likely.

Testing: magnetron

Awaiting comprehension.

Moronia could also be a state of mind. Himm, I guess it is when the market is FED by gross amount of paper/virtual money in order to devaluate the people's wealth into the benefit of some bankers and real businesses are forced to migrate to India and China. Everyone knows it is doom in the long run but it goes on interestingly. This is insane state of moronia.

It is also the state of mind when one can believe it is good for the democracy to have military intermissions in other countries if the local people are not educated enough to choose the proper party. So army should help them get some discipline. This is doubledeal state of moronia.

In an other example, it is the state of mind when one believes in constitution, democracy and freedom of speech and the state governance should be based on laws set by the people themselves. But noone can understand why elected members of the government pump billion of dollars especially when the country itself is in deep need to a Sharia law enforced ally (without a constitution and a lot of human right violations). This is grotesque state of moronia.

I would love to give more examples to these states, but moronia sub states go on and on and on...

It is important to understand which state of moronia you are in. Rest is easy.

No offence meant, we the people (right!) are all in the same ship.

You are describing the circuitry of an ordinary household microwave oven. If you're thinking of gutting one and using the RF circuitry to dry fruits without an enclosure then that's an unsafe practice that no one here will support....and you won't be able to make it work without that "big capacitor" that has been pressed into a more nefarious use.

Re: Something and Transformer

Thanks RAM.

These Iranians have sucked out all the HV capacitors in Turkey. Normally the magnetron should be using higher capacities as the current factor increases. In order to handle it, I guess we will need 1,6 m F capacitors with maybe 4-5K VAC or more.

The device itself encapsulates the fruits in a semi cylindrical cavity and the MW leakages do not occur. So better isolation and less reflection as long as standing waves do not occur mean shorter dosing cycles.

Hopefully, this agony cycle will not be repeated since I am planning to get it as a package from the vendor next time. The only issue there is the device is prepared for 1.45 KW magnetrons while Rell.com does not produce transformer units below 3 KW. So I am planning to use a splitter in order to feed separate horn antennas to the drying cavity but using only one magnetron. Any help on this would also be appreciated.

Google on "bifurcated waveguide" and you'll find some useful papers, but I'm not the person who can help you beyond that; I know how to pass 3kW through wire, not air.

As long as the transformer has the correct voltage output, there is no problem using a 3kW transformer to power a 1.5 kW device, other than the initial cost of the transformer. There will be a bit less voltage drop under load, but most devices are designed for at least ±10% in voltage, so that should not be a problem.

Greece isn't far away, and if you are speaking to them these days, and with their current woes they need to sell everything to raise some moulah, maybe you would get a bargain in capacitors there.

Re: Something and Transformer

If there is no capacitor left in Istanbul, probably there is no capacitor left 6 month prior to that in Greece. "Take 10 capacitors and I give an Island for free" is not the real truth. They have billions parked in off-shore. How do I know it? Am I so smart ass?

Here is the anecdote: In 2003, a friend of mine was looking for organic agriculture and Moldova (between Romania and Ukraine) was a good place with very good soil and dirty cheap prices. He asked for EU support credit over Romania and a greek guy who was controlling the credit release asked for his own share. The amount was 40% of the bulk amount and he also showed my friend how my friend was supposed to go bankrupt when the time comes to pay in smoothest tricky way.

Secondly, you can check the roads in Greece. They are better than in Germany. Why they invested in roads instead of real economy? Road bills are easiest to manipulate.

Why Germans are mad about Greeks? For they know they are cheated again and there is no way back to get that money without lending more. Huh, one more state of moronia: let us call it "Polyanna Boomerang".

And finally, Greeks should have already sold to Moullah whatever they had. So I am not expecting to find anything there but possible from Ukraine Russia Germany or Japan it is more likely.

Hey Aladdin, ??????????? what are you trying to say? I think you have to explain yourself and what you need a lot better. Iranians??? I don't get what you mean.

Re: Something and Transformer

Iranians have bought all the HV capacitors in Istanbul. This is as plain as I can say. This is a statement but not related with what I need anymore since they bought it all.

Secondly, I have a name but not Aladdin. It is right there "Uluaydin". I am not using a mask or a nick. Don't get lost in the irony.

Ram (thanx again) has helped with the bifurcated waveguide and I am looking to E- H tees and 90 degrees axis shift benders in order to get the mag connected to two horn antennas. So far so good. Long live CR4.

Ozhero88, are you iranian by the way? Why do you get offended with their procurement I did not get at all? I hope I did not reveal a secret radar project to Americans. Opps... Sorry mate... :-)

You need to explain yourself a lot better. If you expect us to be the same Genie that served you 2000 years ago, Mr Aladdin, you are dead wrong. GIGO theory works well here...Garbage In, Garbage Out.........so if we can't understand what you are saying, the reply to you would be )&^**^#$**#* something....something and something.

Re: Something and Transformer

Once again I replied but got lost. Anyway.

I respect the point that the issue has been spread too much, let us get aligned.

****

For the fruit dryer MW closed cavity application magnetron and transformer have been ordered from different vendors and the inverter circuit has been forgotten by double polyanna presumption. So 1st components for an inverter circuit to be found.

Secondly, RAMconsult (thanx) gave the idea for the second phase where we can increase the power of the magnetrons and order them from a single vendor rell.com but the issue is a power splitterin order to feed 2 instead of 1 horn antenna. There I start looking forward to finding off the shelf bifurcated / tee waveguides and axis shifters/benders. For the second time all will be ordered from a single vendor even the waveguide if possible.

****

Last but not the least, Aladdin is not my name. No nick or alias or mask I am using. So keep my name as it is, Mr Ozhero88.

Re: Something and Transformer

Some update: The magnetron worked with 1900 VAC capacitor and two parallel 350 mA diodes and a 27 MOhm resistor 6W as full wave rectifier connected to transformer. The only challenge left is to tune the horn antenna to it.

From what I have gone thru it says the waveguide part should be lambda/4 on the back and lambda/2 on the front in the waveguide. About the height of waveguide I just used the length of the part where antenna broadcasts (3lambda/4).

When I try to measure it with a log periodic antenna it gives us some idea about the output power. I do not have stub tuner (and frankly I do not know how to use it) and the device I use is not for near field measurement but if gives us so far quite reasonable measurement results(on comparative results and gut feelings of course).

Any corrections/recommendations are appreciated at this time for both waveguide and output power measurements.
