Information About Abbreviations Used in P&IDs for Denoting Different Instruments

Can anyone help me how can I find out abbreviations for different instruments shows in P&Ids??as as example..NZSC stands for limit switch..NPT for pressure transmitter....etc..

plz help me to find out whole abbreviation directory..

There should always be a legend sheet with abbreviations and numbering schemes for equipment, instruments, piping, etc.

I'd be curious how they get NZSC to stand for a limit switch....

And NPT to be other than National Pipe Thread.

Just a guess, but ZSC is used as a valve travel limit switch quite frequently and there is usually an NO or NC associated with the valve, often posted on the P&ID nearly on top of each other. Did the op get two denotations run together and drop the O or C?

The other less likely scenario is the valve is valve N so the limit switch would be NZSC?

The ISA-5.1-1984 (R1992), Formerly ANSI/ISA-5.1-1984 (R1992) standard's table 2 is one page, "Typical Letter Combinations"
