07/24/2013 3:31 PM

Is it possible to install a non reverse ratching for existing (not new) 1750 HP US Motor 900RPM, 4160 VAC vertical turbine pump Peerless?

ratcheting, perhaps?

Non-reverse???? Does this mean that you don't want the pump to rotate backwards when not running?

More explanation.

You should talk to U.S. Motors, or a pump service company.

U. S. Motors seems to like their, "The BALLOMATIC backstop".

Call a service company.

I'm sure it's possible. Contact US Motor with Model #, Serial #, pump specifics and see what they say. If the pump column isn't too long, perhaps you could accomplish the same thing with a check valve or automatic valve?

<...waiting answer ...>

No. Mistake. Don't wait. Don't use e-mail, because it can be ignored. e-mail is low-priority communication.

Be a pest instead. Use the TELEPHONE. It's quicker. It's two-way. There's a person on the other end. It's about relationships.

What - so there's no non-return valve in the line, then? How did THAT get through HazOp?

I don't know, and there is no way anyone else could know if I don't, so you'll have to call a service company. Oh wait, Lyn already said that. Your welcome.
