The most important thing to change is the premise that some anonymous group of engineers will help you redesign your boiler and firing control system for free. Boiler design is an art as well as a science, and as you have discovered can't be approached in a random fashion. There are experts who do this for a living, hire them now to save time and money in the future.

Obviously if it is running so hot that it it melting the furnace you are putting way too much fuel and air to it so that should be some clue as to what needs to be adjusted or modified.

Dear Mr.peterg,

It appears from your posting, that the problem was handled in a hapahazard way.

Several Factors, like, Heat Flux, Heat Release Rate, Excess Air, Furnace Temp. etc. apart from other factors play a vital role, in the Boiler Working.

Baggasse has 38% Volatile Matter and also Mill Baggasse has 50% Moisture and released during ignition. Volatile Matter Burns with a LONG FLAME and Moisture is driven out from the Baggasse and gets mixed in the flue gas, and remains as SUPER HEATED STEAM in the Flue Gas. The residue mass - on the grate, burns where the heat flux is less.

But the briqutte will not have Volatile Matter and even if it has - it may not be as that of Baggasse.

You may have to go from the 1st step and you cannot blindly do as you feel. Pl. post more working data and design parameters of the Boiler.
