This can happen when a recent OT vote cancels out an earlier GA vote. This was completely explained in your earlier thread.

Tornado is correct. GAs are not permanent. Comment ratings can change at any time. People often discover and read old threads and vote as they read.

I did check your comments that were recently rated and didn't see any sign of malicious activity, that is, people purposely removing your GAs.

Why not count the two tallies, GA and OT separately ? I do not understand why they should interact, since to me OT vote is a matter of perspective. If it is truly OT then move it there, But GA should still be a GA. I like the idea that a GA can be scored in reply to an OT post, since it is parallel to the topic stream.

Sometimes people will receive a GA in response to a thread, and it turns out that the answer was either wrong, based on inaccurate information, or somebody comes along with a much better answer; at which time, somebody else may cancel out that GA.

It really doesn't matter...at least to me. On a technichal question, I'm satisfied if the genuine best answer is in the short GA list; it beats wading through an entire thread, even if a couple of the GAs are just a funny joke, or Lyn berating somebody.
