Dear ALL,

There are some question that need your support :

1. Is that allowable by asme to use R54 RTJ gasket to replace R53 RTJ Gasket?

2. What the impact when we do that replacment?

thanks for your support

Regards,

Iqbal

In the spec, does it say words to the effect that either R54 RTJ gaskets or R53 RTJ gaskets may be used? Only, it's a bit difficult to see the document from here.

Flange pressure rating for R53 is 900# and R54 is 1,500#.

You decide.

You might not be able to squeeze the R54 gasket enough to seal tightly.
