How Many Kinds Of Inductive Wire?

10/03/2013 9:40 AM

Hi,everybody! I am a graduate student.I want to know how many kinds of wires of inductance. At present, I just know three kinds. They are enamelled wire, cotton-covered wire and bare line conductor. Is there anything else?

Is it a kind of enamelled wire? Is it a new kind of inductive wire,I doubt!

Litz wire, commonly used in inductors, RF. No, not new, but also not in OP's list. What is your question then.

All wire is inductive, any wire carrying a current has a magnetic field surrounding it. Are you talking about wire that can be used to form an inductor? The things you mentioned (except for the bare conductor) are all insulating systems, and each has a use for winding coils to form inductors. What's your goal?

In practice, I use it for coupling coil to complete the wireless energy transmission.

Same thought - I was hoping psychology. Or maybe something got lost in the translation. However, I did have a MS Chem E asked me one time "How long is a pipe?" Honest. I think of that every time you post your piping rules.

Simply put, you display a complete lack of knowledge on the subject at hand.

I wonder how you ever got to be a "graduate student".

You will need to provide more information as it is unclear exactly what you are asking.

Are you talking about single strand copper wire for winding inductors and transformers?

Please provide more information.

Maybe we are dealing with "magnet wire"; try searching on that term.

Are you asking about wired used for motor, solenoid, relay etc. wiring?

Inductance is inherent to any conductor with current flow, your undergraduate "fields" class should have made this clear. Inductance is the result of energy being stored in a magnetic field, caused by current flow.

I'll give you the benefit of my doubt with there being a language barrier in your post.

Sometimes, with aluminium conductors, they are oxidised, to produce an insulating coating.

Hmmm...

.

Wires are available in various profiles....

-round, square, rectangular, etc

.

Wires are available with different types of conductors.....

-copper, aluminum, copper plated aluminum, silver plated copper, tinned copper, HTS, etc.

.

Wires are available many different constructions that vary the number, arrangement and insulation design...

-solid core, multiconductor, flat braided, litz, etc.

.

Wires are available with various types and combinations of insulation....

- Polyimide, epoxy, enamel, mica, silk, oxides, teflon, glass, bondable/thermoplastic, solderable...etc
