already have....here's the thing...I have a husband who works as a toomaker and does wire edm....he is very reluctant to show me anything and acts like he is a bit sexist...I have tried everywhere to get some sort of training on the internet but to no avail...but I will not give up...my husband has taught me a bit of edgecam,solidworks and autodesk inventor professional...but I will try the internet again and see what I can find..

select with internet help companies manufacturing the electro erosion machines and try to get their manuals. many give good technical informations about process and possible errors and how to avoid them.

In the simplest terms it is the removal of metal using electrical current to dislodge (erode) metal from a surface.

It is commonly use to form cavities in injection molding tooling and forming shapes from metal plates.

I also suggest that you disregard, out of hand, anything that JP76 says. That is an unstable "member"of the forum.

EDM requires very high current and also high voltages. It also requires some cooling fluid medium which permits spark to form and it must not be an explosive volatile fluid.
