New here but I've been lurking for a couple of weeks. For my first post I choose to ask: "lyn, are all ~24,000 posts by you of the wisecrack variety?" So far that's all I've seen. Very little useful info.

It's only in response to posters that seem unable, or unwilling, to change up a gear.

fillet,

A good starting place would be ~$1900/kw - Simple Cycle and ~ $2200 to $2800 in Combined cycle configuration.

At 17.5 MWe, your plant is very small and a combined cycle configuration probably does not make sense.

You cannot purchase a single machine sized exactly to your needs. You should review the sizes available from the major vendors.

You might be able to find a deal on some used equipment.....

Depends if its aeroderivative or industrial type...but around US$13MM for a new one....just the gas turbine without the BOP equipment...

Definitely. Gas turbine manufacturers can. Pick up the phone, and get going.

Identifying the cost of a new or used gas turbine in any market is very difficult and in todays economy I cannot imagine anyone with expereince in these matters responding in any other way than PW SLack's response.

The only way to get accurate, cost information for budgetary purposes is:

First: Determine what size and type of equipment is needed for the application.

Second: Make a decision as to new or used as well as the location of the installation.

Third: Contact at least three (3) each equipment (in this case gas turbine) providers and ask them to come on site, review the details, and respond with pricing. (Most vendors do not charge for this service so it should not cost you anything.)

ABB, GE, TOSHIBA, ? (Do a search on the internet and pick the vendors of choice.)

Any answer other than from a competent provider/vendor would be a SWAG at best and certainly not reliable enough to base a project expenditure justification on.
