Should I Enroll For a MEP Course?

11/27/2013 4:46 AM

Hello readers,

I had been working with Lighitng fixture manufacturing company for 3 years and I am not satisfied with work or the future prospect.

Should I enroll for MEP-Electrical?

I am an Electrical Engineer and I can do more than what I am doing right now.

Just 3 years out of colleges is it the right thing to opt for??

Enrol only if the qualification or certification achieved at the end of the course is desired. Otherwise, don't do it.

You don't say lacking qualifications is holding you back....you know, in your list....? The answer to that, is the answer to your question...

And you bring up COLA's as a reason?.......

If there is a job opening, and you look into it (that is if you can find the motivation in yourself) and get an offer but your afraid to take a chance, then what the heck are you here being wishy, washy........ Life is full of risks and decisions.......... and if you don't have enough confidence in yourself..... then stay and bask in your sorrow and indecisiveness.

Well one thing for sure, I hope you better at engineering then at guessing........ because its not much of a compliment to your female friend..........

ROI is what you have to see, education is always an investment....... but you have to realize that potential to have it pay returns.

An example, as far having a decision on how it will effect your family, now that is not an excuse, that is a reason, and you should treat it as such.

And you answered your own question.............. and that is ......

Its about time, money and efforts.

How do you expect anyone here to answer it as such........Which it comes down to ROI, and only you would know that....... which bring us back to my original post and that is what you have to ask yourself.

Since you missed it the first time............ I'll explain farther.

Make a list, of pro and cons....... then review it....... post it here if you like........ you already have a start............ but you could leave out the obvious like COLA's, That is not a reason, that's an excuse.....you have that where you are now.

and drop the catch phrases..... like "Qualifications dont hold back, they push forward."

That is a cliché, its like, phases of "Don't take the ladder to the top, take the elevator"..... nothing but fluff

It sounds as though the prospect of putting a CV/resumé in front of as many potential employers and agencies as possible takes a much higher priority.

How long does this course take?

You say you are an Electrical Engineer, what do you expect that certification to give you that you currently cannot get?

You claimed to be an EE, working in a manufacturing environment. It is normal to want more to improve in life, but seems like you are uncertain? I'm pretty sure there are other positions available in the plant? Having doubts on your abilities to effectively show and demonstrate that knowledge base on your supposed background as an EE? Having doubts will not in anyway help your situation, if true!

You are now aware that having that piece of paper that states you are an EE, just helps open some doors for you. Once inside and for one to succeed, one really needs to apply whatever knowledge one claims to have effectively. Thinking of taking another course may help, but its not going to guaranty that you'll get what you are looking for!

Being true and honest to oneself will definitely help, remember that what you Say you can, is very much different from what you actually can Do!

What it MEP in connection with electrical engineering?

At first sight, here in the UK, an MEP is Member of the European Parliament.
