Bring About a Sustainable Renewable Energy Revolution

12/13/2013 7:08 AM

Energy from wind and solar is essentially free energy, unfortunately due to the presence of intermittency and problems arising from trying to balance the load, renewable energy is often more costly than energy generated by fossil fuel alone. More and more money is being pumped into wind and solar; money is not going to make the sun shine at night nor will it make the wind blow on command. Money CAN, however, help with NEW approaches that use OTHER naturally occurring forces of nature such as Gravity and atmospheric pressure. The weight of the many miles of air above us in the atmosphere is as tangible a force of nature as the wind or the sun. The force exerted by gravity is familiar to everyone. No-one has tried to utilise these forces of nature, we did try and we have succeeded with 'Home Grid'. The system caters to almost every possible energy need from individual houses to multi-storey high rise buildings. It is equally at home in an urban as a rural environment.

'Home Grid' uses atmospheric pressure and gravity to create a continuous cycle that can be used to generate electricity. 'Home Grid' works in the manner of the Newcomen Atmospheric engine, however instead of condensing steam to create a vacuum, 'Home Grid' uses the kinetic energy of a descending counterweight to turn an alternator that produces electricity that is fed to a vacuum turbine. More details of how this system works can be found at : http://igg.me/p/597849 it is almost 90% certain that 'Home Grid' will work. ' Home Grid' is essentially twenty first century technology used to run well proven 19th. century designs at maximum efficiency, the results are surprising. No fossil fuels are necessary, 'Home Grid' is 100% clean. If you like what I have written please contribute to make the 'Home Grid' project a success at the indiegogo link given in the text. This is one sure way to be positive about green energy. D. James

Neat.

You use a giant turbine fan to lift a weight, and use the falling weight to produce electricity.

Lots of applications with this concept!!!!

For example: We could use a pump to push water to a large storage tank in the air, then we could release the water to turn a hydroelectric turbine!!!!!

Brilliant!

Apparantly so , if you added the vacuum plate above the lifted water of a chamber of a vacuum of a lifting and then upward and then atmospheric and like a barge a man owned rehearsed by ....

or

calculating even high 60% of 60% eff of 30% eff of 60% eff of 90% certainty:

.6 x .6 x .3 x .6 alone a product at .065 efficiency of mechanical energy output

and that 6.1/2% x 90% certainty === about 5% and having certain uncertainty yields

some complicated reading:

Dilip James posted an announcement 14 hours ago Micro Hydroeletric Project

The first 'Home Grid' project that we designed was a micro hydroelectric project. A piston was raised creating a vacuum, atmospheric pressure would then push water into the tank, which would then be emptied through a generator generating electricity. Two tanks worked in tandem ensuring a continuous supply of electricity. We soon found out that the laws governing the balancing of two weights, regardless of whether one weight was as intangible as the air in the atmosphere and the other was as tangible and solid as a block of steel, were absolute. This meant that in order to lift the piston the counterweight would have to weigh in the region of 10,000 Kg ! However, the learning experience was invaluable, and in our next attempt (i.e., featured system) we were able to put the force exerted by the atmosphere to good use.

If the people in the links are taking money from people, they are going to end up either dead or in jail.

Did either you or those guys bother to consider the energy required to lift the piston in the first place? Neither the link nor the video discusses this; no surprise.

even IF the 5.8% "all parts clean and new" resultant efficiency occurs

and there is only 90% certainty, which shows the mind was thinking (Einstein's incubation of thoughts, wake up with answers) ...

just needed expression in real unrealism of it all as you sugg to consider, T !

When you make such proposals it is better to stay anonymous!

Looking at your sketches I remembered that you already made the "genial proposal" a few month ago.

I have to recognize that your basic ideas are as stupid as the 1st time and did not make any progress.

Good luck I highly appreciate your "it is almost 90% certain that 'Home Grid' will work."

It is good to perseverate but stupid to be stubborn.

Gravity and atmospheric pressure is why hydroelectric dams work.

That's somewhat like how pumped storage works.

Not interested in "pimped" storage systems, thank you.

Funny how often it comes back to being just stored solar power.

I still have high hopes for the Tokamak approach.

They always claim that solar and wind energy are free. Using the same logic, hydro, oil, nuclear energies are also free... It is the capture and transformation that cost money.

So, can they stop using this argument to suck money from us.

No, they most certainly will not because this is one of the ambiguous statements in this discussion that depends on how one interprets the statement as to it being a true or false statement. Allow me to expand on precisely your point.

Solar and wind energies are delivered free of financial charge to a location but their harvesting into a different usable energy is never free of any financial charge. Building alignment (prior to construction) and color choice can be an extremely modest financial expense with passive solar heating/cooling gains at virtually any latitude. Converting solar energy into highly flexible electric power can incur significant investment cost that may never "pay for itself" in the long run. The same can be said with wind but using different machines for harvesting. Similar cost benefit relationships will apply.

As usual the devil is in the details of how the harvesting happens.

I sent this,

"I'm surprised that you would allow projects that have no technical merit and, indeed, are physically impossible to implement in any useful way." to indiegogo.com.

From the website:

Flexible Funding

This campaign will receive all funds raised even if it does not reach its goal. Funding duration: November 22, 2013 - January 21, 2014 (11:59pm PT).

So, our hapless AP will net at least $140.00 USD for his trouble.

Re: Bring About a Sustainable Renewable Energy Revolution

The term "renewable energy" is nonsense in itself. Solar energy is non-renewable in Earth terms, as when the sun approaches the end of its life, it will swell and engulf the Earth.

Were one to compare energy to money for illustrative purposes, then:

  • Solar energy is income-based energy, as is wind, tidal and hydro.
  • Fossil fuel is savings-based energy, as is nuclear.
  • Waste heat is expense.

The rest of the original post is nonsense, bordering on a scam.
