I Need To Convert Some Documents To .pdf Files.

12/19/2013 11:16 AM

I am being asked to complete a questionnaire with all documents as pdf files. The documents I have will be either originals on paper (e.g. bank statements) or scanned documents received via e-mail. Looking at Adobe's site it appears you have to have a paid subscription. Others on the internet appear to be FREE! but I am always suspicious of what else they may contain. Even Adobe tries to get you to include the useless McAfee Anti-Virus. Adobe have an 86 page (!) instruction manual on how to do it, but that's not for me! Any ideas, please?

Any Scanner should be able to convert to PDF straight away! Scan it to documents and this should work.

If you have a old scanner you might get a jpg or something similar. You then should be able to print as pdf with what ever pdf writer you want.

Office nowadys can convert directly to pdf.

Plenty of options.

A free program I use for printing pdf is Cute PDF.

The printer/scanners that I have owned all have the option to save a scanned document in various formats, including pdf. Just follow the instructions in the application software for your scanner. The Adobe program is only necessary for advance publishing applications such as forms.

Create a word document with all the required documents included; then export to pdf.

If you don't have a version of word with that option then use libre office .

This way you have an exact record of everything you've sent.

If you have adobe installed on your computer you should have a printer option of something like PDF995. If you click page setup and select the printer PDF995 it will 'print' the document to a .pdf file and allow you to save it to a location of your choosing.

Well our IT team set us up with CutePDF at work so you should be all right with that. I believe it is free and allows you to print simply to PDF format from Microsoft word and such.

I use CutePDF at home & at work, it is free and works really well. I also use PDF-Xchange Viewer which is also free & lets you edit and mark-up PDF documents.

A co-worker has used PrimoPDF for several years. It seems like the free version might add a few seconds of delay to encourage you to buy the paid version but that is the only negative I am aware of.

Most scanners today provide capability to scan to a pdf format. If you do not own one that does this, a quick trip to an office supply store (Staples, Office Depot) will allow you to produce a pdf document for a modest fee.

Hi, I am also testing about the related PDF converting projects these days. Do you have any ideas about it? Or any good suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Just scan the papers to pics and then convert them to PDF files.

There must be some image to PDF converters available.

Thanks everybody for your help. I eventually found that my Canon printer did have the ability to scan to .pdf. It wasn't easy to find, but it's there. Without having an auto-feed every one had to be done individually and then sent as endless e-mail attachments. What a chore.
