My father, who was a machinist up until his death last year, used these (tumblers) routinely to deburr small parts, including short lengths of tubing and so forth, all to good effect. Economical as well.

With the quantity, I think he wants to get away from that........ but because of the quality it not that much, he'd be better off hiring a reliable person (unskilled) to do that.

Tubing-cutters invariably leave flashing, flashing sharp enough to cut fingers if pressed against the skin.

Cutting wheel will always result in a lip in the ID of the Tube. Also, the tube is of such small diameter, I don't know that such a cutting wheel exists...ie a hand-cutter could result in the tube actually being pinched closed.

I am unsure of what type of finish you need on the tube. But you could rack them in a block as you cut them with all the an open end up. Use a sand blast cabinet to deburr the one end all at once. Take a simular block to turn them over to the other end and deburr that end.

Look up the companies that make syringe needles--they routinely work with SS tubing in small bore sizes and have very high standards for the completed products!

With quantities of nearly 100,000 per year, it is possible the supplier of the ID/OD reamers can custom grind some tools for him.

I'd try using a bandsaw with plenty of lubrication, possibly eliminating the need for deburring altogether.
