Hi,I have been asked to design a pulley drive:

Pump and motor size: 3/2CINM with 11kw 4 pole,525V

Motor Shaft dia: 42m

motor speed: 1460

pump shaft dia: 42

req. pump speed: not slower than 1800rpm

centre to centre: 500mm

Required : motor pulley, motor taperlock,pump pulley, pump taperlock,wedge belt size and qty

Please help,I have no clue

Hi K9,

Contact your local bearing/drive belt supplier.

The pulley ratio you need is child's play to work out but where you need the expert advice is on the pulley sizes (what is the nearest diameters to give you the ratio you need).

The supplier will also be able to tell you and the number of belts to transmit the horse power.

It might be worth a few "Brownie points" if you also design the guard for the application.
