Where Can I Get Plates Thickness 2.5mm?

03/05/2014 12:25 PM

Hello everybody,

I have one questions or one request... To run a machine I need a plates that is like:

100x1000x2,5 mm (thickness is very important, other dimensions are free)

100x1000x3,0 mm (thickness is very important, other dimensions are free)

100x1000x3,5 mm (thickness is very important, other dimensions are free)

55HRc

Material: 90MnVCr8KU

Flatnness in tolerance 0,03mm

Does somebody know where can I find this plates? or some alternative solutions... the important thinks is that is hardness or at least surface hardness(carbonitriding), the dimensions should be bigger than upper specified only the thickness should be as specified

Thank you

I would try a specialty steel supplier, if they don't have what you want, they might know where to get it...

Material that thin is often called sheet rather than plate; European and Asian suppliers might be more likely for those mm dimensions.

2.5mm & 3.0mm are European metric standards for cold rolled carbon or stainless steel, For 3.5mm as a standard you would probably need to look at stainless.

Ask for metric gauge plate.

I do not know just how tight of a tolerance you requre but 2.5 mm is very close to 13 gauge. (2.5mm =.098" 13 gauge= .093"). 3mm is close to 11 gauge (3mm-.118" 11 gauge = .125") and 3.5mm is close to 10 gauge (.138" vs .140").

I used to sell hundreds of them before I retired. (sold all the machines.)

Find a precision metal workshop with a good CNC guillotine/press and ask for a quote.
The Pearson's I used were accurate to 0.01mm over a 3 metre length. (not bad?)

My guarantee (to the customer) was to be within 0.5mm of their specification.

An accurate machine, with a man that cares, is all you need.

A judge was interviewing a woman regarding her pending
divorce, and asked, "What are the grounds for your divorce?"

She replied, "About four acres and a nice little home in
the middle of the property with a stream running by."

"No," he said, "I mean what is the foundation of this case?"

"It is made of concrete, brick and mortar," she responded.

"I mean," he continued, "What are your relations like?"

"I have an aunt and uncle living here in town, and so do
my husband's parents."

He said, "Do you have a real grudge?"

"No," she replied, "We have a two-car carport and have
never really needed one."

"Please," he tried again, "is there any infidelity in your marriage?"

"Yes, both my son and daughter have stereo sets. We don't
necessarily like the music, but the answer to your questions is yes."

"Ma'am, does your husband ever beat you up?"

"Yes," she responded, "about twice a week he gets up earlier than I do."

Finally, in frustration, the judge asked, "Lady, why do you want a divorce?"

"Oh, I don't want a divorce," she replied. "I've never wanted a divorce.
My husband does. He said he can't communicate with me!"

Thanks everybody for your comments. Mostly I am searching here in Europe, but it is difficult to find a good supplier that can achive these specification.

I hope that I will find this what I want asap.
