Why is that demonstration photo plugging in to a wall outlet of a bunrt-out building?
There's so way I'd trust any outlet that covered in potentially conductive soot/goo.

I could just see that new slim design taking over, outlets being replaced to save space, outlets for new construction designed to take advantage of the sleek design....
...then thee electronics designers go back to the 'wall wort' style of putting the transformer into the plug and now one wall wart blocks FIVE adjacent outlets instead of just one or two adjacent ones.
