Where.?

Where?

.

Where is your pride?

If it was me (and it is obviously not) I would take pride in calculating this myself!

Wall Thickness is always OD -ID. Every standard will recognise this.

.

AND

.

.

You can do this! So do it!

Wall Thickness is always OD -ID.(OD-ID)/2.

t = PD/2Sallowable; then do a LOOKUP function to select the next larger standard pipe thickness.

How to check your calculations. The OD must always be larger than the ID.

Pipe schedules already have this information tabulated, Boss. The procedure is one of selection rather than calculation. You just need the maximum pressure, the temperature range, the line size and what's in it. The rest you can do with your local piping distributor using Alexander Graham Bell's wonderful telephone apparatus.

So many of our newcomers, AP's especially, seen to think the problems of the world can be solved with a mathematical formula without the application of any common sense.

Or a phone call to their piping supplier.

Or a web search.

This lack of initiative seems to begin in school, that is for those who went to school.
