First off, I like to welcome you here to CR4.

Unfortunately, you may have started off on the wrong foot,..... figuratively speaking....

The point that you will hear, as you being a piping design engineer........ and how you phrased your question.

It is the responsibility of a piping design engineer to do this work. The members here are more than willing to help, but they do draw a line when no effort is put out for a request that is clearly the responsibility of the requester....

Do you understand?

But we are a forgiving bunch............

I suggest you at least do some preliminary research and then bring it up for opinions....... because we have a lot of that. you'll get more information that way.

Am assuming that you mean dimensional tolerances?

Dimesions of steel tubes and pipes

If you are talking about wall thickness tolerance, that is referenced in the material standard. If you are talking about fabrication tolerances, I think your study of B31.1 (and 31.3) will show that specific tolerances are not given. The Piping Fabrication Institute has issued ES-3 "Fabricating Tolerances".

What kind of tolerance sheet are you referring to? Fabrication tolerance? Design tolerance? Dimensional tolerance?

Having worked in piping fabrication, I can refer PFI standard PFI-ES3 where tolerances are given.

There are dimensional tolerances for piping components, they will be given in respective dimensional standards (Pipe B36.10, Flange B16.5, etc.)

"Design tolerance", I guess you have to guide me you are a Piping Design Engineer

Hope that helps
