05/05/2014 2:27 AM

In our rendering plant the environment is very stick, which effect the control room also. The SCADA client CPUs in that area having too much issue with power supplies, Hard disks and mother Board.

You should be looking for "industrial computer".

Quote your specific environment to the Vendors (Siemens comes up in the search) and get some quotes!

Good luck!

Place all but the mouse and the keyboard in a cabinet that has a gasket sealing the door on it. Pressurize it with 10-15 inches of H2O with clean fresh air with a source from outside the "sticky" area. Put a switch or valve controlling an annunciator on so that it activates an annunciator when the door is opened. When the mouse or keyboard are no longer useable toss it and replace it with another inexpensive replacement.

Monitor can also be accommodated in the cabinet if there is a glass or Plexiglas window in the door or a side of the cabinet. Another possibility would to put a very clear plastic bag over the monitor and tie is around the base or mountings of it.

This is a time proven method of enclosing instrumentation in dusty, high humidity, some XP areas and other environments detrimental to the operation of computers or other equipment.

Good Luck, Old Salt

First you need to clean up the environment in the control room. Otherwise you are going to continue to replace computers.

Industrial computers, and sealed cabinets will help extend the time between replacements, but that doesn't address the root cause: Poor environmental controls.

I had just tossed this email away, but retrieved the URL - it's a soft sales pitch for Siemens industrial PCs.

The others' comments on cleaning up the environment on spot on. One doesn't do commercial food preparation in the back of garbage truck.

I also highly suggest using solid state drives instead of hard disk drives (rotating media).
