Sounds like the drain to your air conditioner is clogged. You might also have an air conditioner that has a much too big of a heat transfer (BTU) than you need. You are correct, the technology exists. The technology has to be properly sized to your load for it to work properly.

All modern air conditioners (at least those in the US) are designed not to freeze up or to have heating cycles to prevent or minimize icing.

It's usually people that don't have a clue how to install or maintain air conditioning systems that cause icing problems.

ALL air conditioners are designed that way. If one freezes up, it is broken or sized and/or installed wrong. -- JHF

If an air conditioner freezes up, that is an indication that it has lost some of its refrigerant fluid. With less fluid, the pressure will be lower, so the boiling point will be lower. With the correct amount of fluid, the boiling point will be just a bit above freezing. When some of the fluid leaks out, that boiling point will fall below the freezing point, and it will ice up.

Have your system serviced by a qualified and knowledgeable person (which includes eliminating the leak), and you'll be back in business!

Like a car window winder handle, perhaps? Most vehicle breakers can provide them for a few £GBPs.

OK. So list the places where the search has come to nought so far, and the forum can list some fresh prospects that exclude them. After all, it wouldn't do to <...total waste...> by duplicating previous efforts, would it? Eh?

Properly designed and adjusted, and fully charged, air conditioners do not ordinarily ice up. Check low suction pressure cutout setting.

I think just about every air conditioner currently on the market meets your requirements if it is sized and maintained properly.
