Please explain this chain attachment. I would expect bolts or welding.

Cantilever base plate is attached with the chain attachment by means of bolt only

Depends on whether it is the force of the beam on the wall, or the wall on the beam.

Am I wrong or we discuss the base plate ? Do you find in the sketch any force pulling the plate ? May be a new way of interpretation.

Prashant:

Since your written description is ambiguous at best, please provide a drawing thoroughly describing the configuration.

A sketch might help; your descriptions are unclear.

This is the guideline that you want:

http://www.aisc.org/store/p-1529-design-guide-1-base-plate-and-anchor-rod-design-second.aspx

Your baseplate design is a little different from a column baseplate design, insofar as you have no axial loads into the plate, only modest bending loads.

I believe that your desired plate is a common pipe support baseplate design

I suggest that you consider a four bolt baseplate, ~0.75 inches thick about 100 mm x 100mm

The anchor bolts must be carefully evaluated for both tension and shear. Be aware that different anchor bolts designs exist with different capacities.

The anchor bolts cannot be located too close to the edge of concrete. A special calculation must be done to evaluate this distance.

Suggest google searches "baseplate design" and "anchor bolt base plate"

Is this your first cantilever design with baseplate ?

Respect us....... complete this thread and tell us of your final decision.

Oooops..

I meant a baseplate about 200 mm x 200 mm and 0.75 inches thick

Weld the MC all around with a 0.25 inch minimum fillet weld....

Sorry

What? Units are determined by standards: please adopt one or another; they are not to be interchanged.

Try PCEESoft's ColumnBase software. Model your base plate geometries, assign loads and view precise analysis results. Also, use automatic check/design according to AISC360-10 and ACI318-14 standards.

I invite you to view ColumnBase software. ColumnBase is integrated software for analysis and design of column base plate connections using three-dimensional finite element modeling.
Visual and user-friendly interface, easy to use and precise results.
In this software, all components of the connection are modeled such as the column, plate, stiffeners, anchor bolts, concrete footing, and grout.
Analysis results verified by several valid experimental tests and realistic simulation of base plate behavior is performed by using it.
Analysis results are used for the automatic design of connection components according to standards/codes.
