Some Destruction Fun...

07/04/2014 5:20 PM

Since my back is giving me problems again, I decided to hire a friend to demolish the old shed and create the new base for a new shed.

Here's the shed being destroyed... http://youtu.be/KviOT6BGSxE

He also took some small (6-8in) Oak trees down and made it look like kids play.

Here's the downing of a 16" very tall Pine tree...http://youtu.be/esBargBjR3s

Before destruction...

And after...

Will post the construction as it progresses...

New nursery rhyme "...and the Kabuta tractor huffed & puffed and pushed the wooden house down"?

I'm not going to read this unless a sledgehammer was involved

There is only one Oak stump left that I will need to cut off, since removing it will kill the other Oak next to it...and I want some shade to work under! The other stump that is left is a small pine that has a temporary power feed attached to it. When enough of the building is up, I'll put the power into the building, hook my 8k lb winch up to the stump and remove it! He actually broke that pine into several pieces. My birthday present for next year is supposed to be a Kubota!

If there's no bathtub in there, then the folks here at CR4 are not interested.

It's done...(well almost) Just finishing the electric inside. Two three-way switches to wire and the outside floods and we're done. Now to organize a nice work shop! (and the wife still thinks she's getting a "potting shed".

I really like these doors that the carpenter built.

There will be a ramp on the back to allow for a tractor to get inside.

Side has nice widows to let in ventilation and light.

A couple of stumps remain to be pulled...

Thanks Kris. I spent today chasing stupid wiring mistakes.

Almost done. Tomorrow should be cleanup and more inside pics.

I'd not believe you if there were not a few glitches. Most stuff I do, I end up thinking, ' if only I had done it this way'. The key, to my way of thinking, is to find that point where you quit planning and 'do'. Looking at the pics you have, it's very cliched, planned your work & worked the plan.

Please tell me something went wrong ! About the only thing missing is that horrible moment when you realize something was fundamentally wrong in the design plan. Even if you were just home later than said, please give hope to hapless sods like me. Unless working for somebody else, It just never goes right . To get the job completed, only a few wiring issues to sort out, is very good going. Kudos, and thanks for sharing.

Kris, I'll pass your comments to the builder, who is a great friend. He's one of the best and an example of someone who has learned the trade from the ground up by doing it since he was in highschool. He planned the roof shingles so close that he had one hull shingle left over! There is hardly any waste and what the is is small pieces that make perfect kindling for the winter fires.

That is top plus of you to credit the builder, many people would try take the work as 'all my own'. Sounds to me like you both got it all spot on. The whole project is a credit to you both.
