She might need a little body work and Bondo on the starboard side.

Given the death toll, <...champagne corks...> seems inappropriate.

For the Americans: One sister (same ship. with different chimney) is sailing the Atlantic and Caribbean. It is one of the "big" Carnival Ships "the Splendor". It has been sailing between L.A. and Hawai until 2012. In 2013, we sailed it around the 'Horn', all the way around South America to have it delivered to New York. (took 2 months time)

Note: this ship didn't fit the Panama Canal.

Your captain apparently didn't have any girlfriends in the wheelhouse to impress.

Kiss the Fish

Around the Horn

Very Nasty Horn. Yes this is broad daylight. 20 feet seas. Heavy currents. That is why we had to go so far around this "rock"

Champagne, horns blowing? Should have just kept a respectful quiet for those lost. Nothing to really celebrate.

I'd say that the ones who were not killed by a reckless captain, who was just showing off for a female on the bridge, might have quite a bit to celebrate.

It would have been fun to work on the recovery, though I can't think of why they'd need a computer scientist.

Some interesting facts about the large barge mounted crane that they are using. 1,400 ton lift capacity and looks like it could handle even more!

Good Luck, Old Salt
