Bio-Motor That Drive Flagella of Spirochete

07/27/2014 12:33 PM

This is simply amazing engineering! Accidental or by design?

Not design; but not exactly accidental, either.

Ask Richard Dawkins - apparently it's all down to serendipity, just a few million beneficial mutations!

4,000,000,000 / 2740 years = 145,985,401 mutations

I suppose it is possible...beautiful chemical engine design tho.

No that's wrong...

http://oregonstate.edu/ua/ncs/archives/2014/may/amber-discovery-indicates-lyme-disease-older-human-race

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2001/03/010328075426.htm

15,000,000 / 2740 years = 5474 mutations

I suppose it is possible to make a flagella go round and round in that many mutations.

Beautiful little chemical engine tho!

Where does Dawkins say that? I think you are leaving out part.
