I didn't do it!

That was Friday night. I was out in it with two of the boys when it hit. We took refuge at the indoor batting range and hit balls for an hour.

Last night, again, we had higher winds than Friday night, but it was already dark and not as visually imposing. (We never lose power for some reason)

This is common every year at this time.

The name has gotten more exotic over time. They used to just be "dust storms". Then they became "monsoons", named after the season.

Now, they are now "haboobs" the Arabic name.

That name makes some small boys titter. (Intentional play on words there)

The biggest pain is cleaning the pool and getting the patio furniture out after one.

These storms take out the weakest trees and fences whenever they hit.

I missed Lyn's name in that article, along with 4 questions on the science quiz, but I remember the posted photo of the haboob.

Great picture ! An Arabian friend of mine showed me one on his cell phone of a sand storm in his country, and I asked: where is it ?? I thought I was seeing solid mountains and no storm at all !.

This is what they look like from our back yard. It's time to get out of the pool.

This is what it looks like after it hits. This was 2012, but typical.

tcmtech and I only had to deal with -35o F, 40mph wind and eight foot snowdrifts... we might be getting the better part of the deal.

Forget the end of the world.

I'd rather be at the Worlds End. There's one set of table and chairs I defy you to sit at, they're on the ceiling.

No, that happened on May 21, 2011 and then later on October 21, 2011.

That's when Harold Camping predicted the Rapture.

But, if it happened, I missed it.

I thought lyn was full of something other than dust.

I guess that makes a few of us wrong?

I wonder, if Steppeck took his bath there, would the storm blast the eucalyptus from it.
