Ellipsoidal Dish Seam

08/14/2014 4:18 AM

We have fabricated the ell. dish with two long seam & same is 100% radiographed.

but as per client spec seam should not be 0.2mm away from the center line.

but in our case seam will cross the boundry by 200mm but not coming on knuckle portion. is there any reference in ASME code book for above subject.

There is no knuckle on an ellipsoidal head, and how does the seam avoid the least-radius portion and the skirt?

If the client's purchase order included requirement(s) beyond Code as well as Code compliance, you are required to meet those also. If there is a conflict within the PO, you should have resolved it before fabrication. Now you are at the client's mercy.

BTW, if you are producing ASME Code components, surely you have a copy on-hand?
