Flanges

08/20/2014 3:35 AM

Gents, I have a few questions about flanges. We have a A694 subsea flange connection, which are weld overlaid with inconel 625, with incoloy 825 gasket. However, a mishap occured and right now we have an overlaid weldneck to pair with non-overlaid swivel. We decided to use the overlaid on the groove to avoid corrosion due to water ingress into the flanges, nothing to do with content. I look over the code the gasket are compressible by both side of flanges. However, my cincern is having such configuration of overlaid and non overlaid groove flange, is it reasonable? Appreciate for any reply.

Whoever supplied these rather technical flanges should be in the best position to make recommendations. I would continue to consult with them, unless something untoward has happened.
